2015 has seen the outdoor living trend continue to grow and flourish. In spite of the adverse weather conditions, the al fresco lifestyle has remained popular and demand for sophisticated outdoor solutions has never been greater. Here we take a look back at our outdoor design news from the past year and give some insights for 2016, which is set to be another big year for al fresco living.

What we did in 2015

Over the last year we have worked with numerous businesses across the eating out, leisure and hospitality sectors, devising innovative solutions to help them bring their outdoor areas to life. Our clients have included the Slug & Lettuce, Patisserie Valerie, Toby Carvery, Fuller’s and Enterprise Inns, as well as several well-loved independent pubs, restaurants and hotels throughout the UK.

We have also updated our product selection with some brand new awnings and retractable roof systems, consolidating our position as a market leader in pioneering outdoor design.

Products - 2015

Clockwise from top left: Markilux Planet, Med Opera, Med Viva, Med Luce

The Markilux Planet is an award winning freestanding awning featuring 330 degree swivel function, enabling it to be rotated in harmony with the movement of the sun. Robust and stylish in design, it meets class 2 requirements for wind resistance and comes in a wide choice of colours with branding available on request.

The Med Opera is a sleek retractable system featuring an ingenious louvered roof whose slats can tilt open and closed to provide light and shade as and when required. The roof gives complete cover from the rain when closed, and side blinds can be added if desired to provide even greater protection from the elements.

The Med Luce and Viva retain all the trademarks of the manufacturer’s other retractable roof products, offering year-round cover, sleekness and durability. However, these new additions to the range offer an extra layer of refinement in terms of design and operation.

The slimline profile of the Luce gives a sleek and elegant look whilst the Viva is more heavily built yet still ideal for bringing a clean and contemporary look to al fresco areas of all kinds.

What’s happening in 2016

The outdoor design industry is expecting continued growth over the next year to meet increasing demand from the eating out and hospitality sectors. Al fresco solutions are set to become ever more innovative and substantial to satisfy the needs of businesses operating within these fiercely competitive markets.

We will be adding some exciting new products to our range and have a surprise in store for late January / early February next year, so watch this space and stay tuned for more information…

Until then, may we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year!
